Frequently Asked Questions

How do I book a session?

Please send me a message and we can book in a date for you. Once you've paid a booking fee of $100, the time and date will be reserved for you.

How do I pay?

I will send you a digital invoice via email for both your booking fee (needed to secure your date), as well as the remaining balance which is due at least 7 days before your session.

Can I choose the location?

Absolutely! I can meet you at your "happy" place. Whether that be your home, a favourite park or beach. Otherwise, I have a number of favourite locations that I can recommend, based on what style you have in mind for your photo session.

What if I need to reschedule?

No worries at all! Sometimes Mother Nature challenges us or "life" happens. Together, we'll find a new date that suits. At least 24 hours notice is appreciated if you need to reschedule, but I also understand that this isn't always possible.

When will I get my gallery?

I aim to deliver all gallery previews within 2 weeks and your finalised photo gallery within 1-2 weeks after receiving your photo selection.

I'm not comfortable in front of a camera, help!

Please don't worry about that. I promise that feeling will fade quickly.

I love candid style shooting so you will be more distracted by the fun you are having. And I have a few tricks up my sleeve that will help you feel comfortable and relaxed so you will completely forget the camera is there.

What do I wear?

Based on the season, location, and style of your session, I can give you some advice once you book in a session. The most important thing is that you feel beautiful and comfortable in what you're wearing. This will show in the photos! My general advice is choosing a few natural and soft colours that complement each other. And I would avoid large logos or busy designs as that can be distracting.

Do I need to bring anything?

This depends on the type of photoshoot, but you generally just need to bring yourselves.

Travel light so you can enjoy the adventure. Often there are natural props along the way that we can incorporate. If we are shooting outdoors we can discuss bringing a few different things (e.g. a rug and/or blankets). I will discuss this with you prior to your session.

Do I have to order prints through you?

It's definitely an easy option, I love taking away the hassle for you but it's not mandatory! If you choose to order prints yourself, I do recommend ordering them through a specialised photo centre and not via a generic photo lab (e.g. Kmart, Big W, etc.) as I can't vouch for their quality.

What to expect from a session with me?

I'm a nice person with good communication skills and I specialise in capturing you and your family in an authentic way. I want you to focus on having a great time, connecting with your loved ones, and living in the moment. That hair that is out of place is actually beautiful!

I won't be obsessively posing you, I'll provide gentle direction. And I'm not afraid to get wet or dirty or sandy. And I'm full of ideas for the next shot!

How do you get the kids to behave?

You don't need to stress about this. I have been working with kids since I started baby sitting at age 12, then tennis coaching at age 16 and on countless shoots.

I work quickly. I embrace the chaos. And I love the challenge of winning over kids. This shoot is all about having fun and I promise the photos will bring a smile to your face, even if it all doesn't go exactly to plan!
